Method for setting the root account password in QNAP LXD type container terminal

To enter the root account via SSH in LXD type containers, you need to enter a password. The setup method is as follows:

  1. In the QNAP container interface, click on the name of the LXD type container to open LXD.

  2. On the LXD page, click on "Execute" to enter the execution console.

  3. Execute the command: passwd and press enter. Note that this is not the complete password, entering it incorrectly will result in an error message "Command 'xxx' not found".

  4. After entering the correct command, you will be prompted to enter a new password. The account name is root by default, so you just need to enter the new password and press enter (the password will not be displayed during the input process, just keep typing until finished). There will be a confirmation prompt, press enter again. When you see "passwd: password updated successfully", it means the modification was successful. You can then close and exit.
